Why Congregation B’nai Jehudah supports refugees
The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah loves refugees. We are committed to supporting refugees resettled in the Kansas City area, to educating the Jewish and general community about refugee resettlement, and to advocating to advance the cause of refugee resettlement and support in Kansas City and the United States.
The issue of border security and whether or not it’s safe to welcome refugees is a hot topic in the United States. It’s something Israelis have been concerned about since before the birth of the Jewish State in 1948. Today, many Israelis are concerned about the plight of Syrian refugees.
In Israel, beauty is not only found on an off-road jeep tour through the Jordan Valley, residing in the disputed territory of the Galilee, with the height of the morning sun to shine the way. Nor only at the sight of a young boy playing and giggling next to the Western Wall, just to be shushed by an older man engrossed in prayer.
Muslim countries should welcome their own refugees
The Feb. 2 issue of The Chronicle is filled with column after column decrying President Trump’s executive order banning refugee immigration from several Muslim countries.

We condemn the executive order on immigration and refugees that was issued late Friday evening, Jan. 27.
We must all co-exist
I get so frustrated to see such blatant and pervasive bad journalism where lies are painted as truth as news stories, and where broadcasters and “Hollyweed” actors/actresses are suddenly experts in geopolitical/social/environmental issues.
Appalled by Ellison
I do not know Stu Lewis personally, but based on his many other letters to The Chronicle over the years he appears to be intelligent and articulate, though I have rarely agreed with anything he has written.
Stress and change are inevitable in our busy lives, but how we manage the stressors in our lives is the secret to improving and maintaining our overall well being.
With Hanukkah right around the corner and Jews remembering our spiritual and military victories, it’s important to remember our Jewish responsibility to “spread light” to all corners of the world.
