Harriet Lynn Katz, age 77, of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away on Monday, Sept. 14, 2020. Beloved wife of Stan Katz (57 years); devoted mother of the late Stacy Katz Olivera (survived by Humberto Olivera) and Amy Beth Katz; loving sister of Jacob Gallun, Shelton Gallun, and the late Judith Weinberg, Kansas City, Missouri; treasured Mima of Mason and Brandon Olivera.

Diane Kessler passed to heaven peacefully on Sept. 15, 2020, in Shawnee of natural causes. Diane lived a life full of love and full of giving love to others, especially as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Dolores Dawn Wedlan, of Mission Hills, Kansas, peacefully passed away of natural causes on Sept. 16 at the age of 96. Dolores Oswald was born in the small town of New Ulm, Minnesota, in 1924, part of the third generation of immigrants from Scandinavia and Germany. Her mother, Mabel, and her father, Emanuel, adored their only child and raised her to be independent, resourceful and strong.

Dr. Avery Bratt died on Sept. 10, 2020, at the age of 64 of several chronic health conditions amidst a global pandemic and an increasingly disgruntled planet, surrounded by his wife and three children.
Betty Congour Caywood Bushman
Betty Congour Caywood Bushman was born in Chicago to Irene Wolf Congour and Vernon Price Congour on March 10, 1931. Vernon Congour was a Ward Boss for Mayor Edward J. Kelly, which led to a rocky marriage with Irene, so Irene, Betty and Betty’s younger brother, Stanley, spent a lot of time with family in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1944 Irene moved to Kansas City with the children permanently.

Vicki Lee Gershon (Kapnick) passed away peacefully on Sept. 7, 2020. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Herbert Gershon; their children Jordan Gershon(Beth) of Overland Park and Stacy Schenberg (Mark) of St. Louis, Missouri; and grandchildren, Alex Gershon and Brooke Niethamer (Erik) and Brandon and Emily Schenberg.
