Stephanie Gail Bordy Lipman died at her home In Portland, Oregon, on April 5, 2019. Stephanie was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on Sept. 29, 1954. She danced as a youth and excelled in ballet, tap and gymnastics. She danced in the children’s dance company in several Starlight Theatre productions and in “The Nutcracker” with the Kansas City Junior Ballet. She was a member of the gymnastics and drill teams at Shawnee Mission East High School. She attended the University of Missouri and graduated from the University of Arizona. She began her career trading stocks and bonds at B.C. Christopher in Kansas City and eventually retired from D.A. Davidson in Portland.

Stephanie fought a long and vigorous battle against breast cancer. She fought it on her own terms and did not let it define her. What defined her was love, laughter, family, fun, perseverance, and the care and keeping of friendships. She loved being with family, hanging out with her grandchildren, golfing with her girlfriends, traveling and outdoor activities of almost any kind.

She is survived by her partner Ken Phillips and her daughter Jaime Lipman (Michael) Zwerling and two grandchildren, Brendan and Lilly Zwerling, and her siblings Michael (Susan), Valerie and Jennifer Bordy, her Uncle Gene (Barbara) Rostov and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Alice Bordy and her grandparents, Sam and Janet Rostov, of Kansas City, and Sam and Jeanette Bordy of Silver Creek, Nebraska.

Donations in her memory are suggested to Stand UP to Cancer, the Susan Komen Race for Cure-Oregon or your city chapter, or the charity of your choice. A celebration of her life is being planned on April 28, 2019, in Kansas City.
