Steve Rose, owner of Rose Publications, is donating The Kansas City Jewish Chronicle to the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City. The ownership change becomes effective Friday, Sept. 11. Now in its 100th year, The Chronicle has provided its readers with Jewish news and opinion from a variety of perspectives — local, regional, national and international — since January 1920. The paper is mailed to subscribers each week; current subscriptions will be honored.

Lindsay Fineman and her three daughters, Scarlet, Lila and Julia, a Rose Family Early Childhood Education Center family, recently enjoyed a socially distanced concert by Funky Mama in Beth Shalom’s parking lot.

With schools opening all around the nation, the number of COVID-19 cases have risen. So how are our local Jewish preschools keeping little ones safe during the pandemic?

The Jewish people forever remind us that to survive, we must adapt. This is a time to adapt.

Effective Sept. 11, 2020, I am donating The Kansas City Jewish Chronicle to the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City.

The Jewish community will join together for a combined virtual Havdalah and Selichot service at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12. This service, which traditionally takes place on the Saturday evening before Rosh Hashanah, marks the official beginning of the Season of Awe and helps individuals spiritually prepare for the High Holy Days. The contemplative service will be led by area clergy and musicians and consists of introspective and inspiring readings, prayers and music.

Jewish Federation Young Adults Division committee members include: (top row, from left) Jason Kotlyarov, Greyson Rubin, Hannah Katz, Jacob Hjelmaas; (bottom row, from left) Henri Gaeddert, Michael Portman, Becca Levine and Alex Kaplan.

Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City is proud to introduce the new members of its Young Adults Division (YAD) committee.

JFS and The Giving Brick will be among the activities at CARnival for CASA — a fun, safe, socially distanced event in which families load the kids in the car and drive through stations with lots of great activities, giveaways, a raffle, and sweet treats and lunch for everyone in the car.
