Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy (HBHA) raised more than $715,000 during its 60th anniversary celebration Oct. 20 at the Kansas City Marriott Muehlebach in downtown Kansas City, organizers said.
The event drew more than 330 alumni, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, community leaders and friends to celebrate the school’s six decades of Jewish education.
The evening featured a performance by acclaimed Cantor Azi Schwartz, whose music celebrated Jewish heritage and faith.
Founded in 1966, HBHA offers a dual curriculum combining general academics with Jewish education. The school emphasizes Jewish values, identity and leadership development alongside academic achievement.
The celebration also highlighted the contributions of the six families who helped establish HBHA. Guests shared memories and tributes reflecting the school’s influence on students and families across Greater Kansas City.
The money raised at the event will directly support HBHA’s educational programs, student opportunities, faculty excellence, and long-term sustainability, organizers said.
