With Passover about a month away, Jewish Family Services (JFS) and the Rabbinical Association of Kansas City are conducting their annual food drive asking the public to donate holiday food items so all can enjoy a traditional seder.

Items must be donated by March 31.

Area congregations are collecting various kosher-for-Passover food items such as matzah ball soup mix, matzah baking mixes, matzah meal and potato starch. These items may also be dropped off during business hours in designated barrels in the lobby of the Jewish Community Campus (5801 W. 115th St., Overland Park, KS 66211) or JFS’ Brookside location (425 E. 63rd St., Kansas City, MO 64110).

For the first time, JFS will provide prepared kosher-for-Passover meals to 240 client households (about 400 people). Kosher caterer Kim Matsil is preparing traditional meals that will include a main dish, matzah ball soup and dessert. Each household will also receive fresh produce, matzah and other Passover food products to celebrate the holiday.

Donations may be made online at jfskc.org/passover or by mailing a check with “Passover Meals” in the memo line to JFS at 5801 W. 115th St. Ste 103, Overland Park, KS 66211.

JFS is also seeking volunteers to deliver meals on Monday, April 22, from 12 to 3 p.m.; those interested can register at tinyurl.com/2ynvsjsn
