Jay Lewis, president and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City, was chosen to be a participant in Leading Executives, an leadership development program for Jewish nonprofit executives.

Cohorts of Leading Executives consist of senior-most professionals in Jewish nonprofit organizations who have been in their position for fewer than five years.

“I am so excited for this opportunity to learn and develop my leadership skills with such an amazing organization and a phenomenal cohort of leaders,” Lewis said. “It is an honor to represent Kansas City and the Jewish Federation as part of this special program.”

The sixth-month program includes executive coaching, five 90-minute virtual meetings and a three-day in-person gathering to develop leadership skills and practices.

Lewis will join executives from synagogues, museums, social justice programs and other Jewish Federations, including those of Dallas, Texas; Greensboro, North Carolina; St. Louis, Missouri; Nashville, Tennessee; Edmonton, Canada; and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Leading Executives is a program of Leading Edge (previously Leadership Pipelines Initiative), an organization which facilitates leadership development among Jewish organizations. According to its “State of The Jewish Workplace 2023” report, Jewish nonprofit leaders consider connections with each other to be their most valuable form of support.
