Jewish Culture Fest, previously known as Jewish Arts Festival, is returning post-pandemic on Oct. 15, 2023.

Having grown and evolved since its start in 1994, this unique local festival is an all-ages event that celebrates Jewish life in Kansas City for people of all cultures, faiths, and backgrounds.

Having drawn more than 7,000 attendees, this one-day, multi-generational festival will feature artists, activities, food, musicians, and entertainers for both families and adults. The event will take place outdoors at the Jewish Community Campus.

Jewish Culture Fest co-chairs Rhonda Fromm and Sharon Loftspring are working with Culture Fest steering committee members and The J KC staff to envision a “special day that re-ignites the Jewish community” while introducing it to those who may not be familiar with what the Jewish community has to offer.

“We are busy planning a fantastic day for everyone,” Loftspring said. “We have had so many successes in the past with Culture Fest. We want to build on them, so we are looking at mixing new ideas with old favorites to ensure the festival has something for the entire community.”

“We are excited about our work and are introducing eco-friendly practices to this festival,” Fromm said. “We are working with our amazing steering committee to dream big. Our ideas are in process, and we can’t wait to unveil another fun event next October.”

Some features to expect include:

  • Dozens of artists
  • National and local entertainers
  • Ethnic, pop, and children’s music
  • Traditional and contemporary kosher Jewish food
  • Hands-on children’s activities
  • Local Jewish organization and congregation participation
  • Celebration of Israeli culture

Updates about the festival will be posted on jewishculturefest.org.

Organizers of the Jewish Culture Fest are also spreading the word to visual artists both locally and from out of town. Those who are interested or know of anyone interested in exhibiting artwork at Jewish Culture Festival are asked to fill out the interest form at jewishculturefest.org. More information will be sent to those artists in the coming months.
