Jewish Family Services recently welcomed Vicky Leitnaker as its new Volunteer Engagement Manager.

A long-time resident of Kansas City, Leitnaker came to JFS from Cornerstones of Care where she served as community activator. Leitnaker has an extensive background working with volunteers through her work at several area nonprofits including Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri, Heart to Heart International and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Douglas County.

“I’m so excited about my work at JFS and look forward to meeting all of our dedicated volunteers,” Leitnaker said. “I’m ready to jump in and lift the volunteer program, creating a safe, gratifying, consistent space that leads to long-term retention.”

Leitnaker is a graduate of Baker University with a degree in English and sociology. She also holds several certifications in volunteer management. A volunteer herself over the years, Leitnaker finds fulfillment in her work.

“Giving back is central to how I live my life, and guiding volunteers so they can do the same is extremely fulfilling,” she said.

There are many volunteer opportunities at JFS. Those interested can email or visit jfskc.org for more information.
