Karin Lichterman and Mark Edelman of Leawood, Kansas, and Dick and Sharon Cooper of Alexandria, Virginia, announce the wedding of their children, Risa Edelman and Will Cooper, on October 3, 2021, in Alexandria.
Risa is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and received a master's degree from Columbia University. Will graduated from Harvard University and earned a juris doctor degree from George Washington University. The couple reside in Alexandria. Will is an attorney with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Risa is an analyst with the Environmental Protection Agency.
Due to COVID, the wedding was a small ceremony celebrated at home with friends and family. The couple hope to repeat their vows at a more inclusive celebration planned for May 2022 in Kansas City.
