Joshua J. Daniel passed away on July 2 at University Health Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. 

Joshua was born at Scripps Memorial Hospital in Chula Vista, California, on Sept. 1, 1991. Josh was the first of three siblings. 

Joshua lived in San Diego, California; Lincoln, Arkansas; Pueblo, Colorado; Harvey, Louisiana; and Kansas City, Missouri. Joshua attended Miller Elementary in San Diego, then Indian Creek Elementary and Center Middle School in Kansas City. He attended Grandview High School for three-and-a-half years and then graduated from Central High School in Pueblo.

Josh played football and wrestling in middle school and high school. He earned an engineering scholarship to the University of Missouri at Columbia for high school students.

Josh was a self-taught master classic rock guitarist. He also was a talented artist and enjoyed video games and technology. 

Joshua loved his family and was always calling everyone to see how they were doing and ask if they needed anything. 

He is survived by his mother, Kelley E. Block; father, James C. Daniel; sister, Cristina Joy McCoy; brother, Jeremiah T. Daniel; niece, Chanel N. McCoy; grandmothers, Bobbie J. Block and Bonni F. Cassells; aunts, Sherri Sloan and Patricia A. Mitchell; uncle, Robert W. Daniel, Jr.; and a host of cousins and other relatives. 

Joshua will be truly missed. 

A graveside service was held on July 16 at Mount Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to jdc.org or childrensmercy.org.
