Donna Adreme Kupper, 90, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully on May 17.  Funeral services were held graveside on May 28 at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Just three weeks prior, Donna celebrated her 90th birthday surrounded by the love of her family and dearest friends.

Donna was born on April 26, 1935, to the late Pauline and Mayor Chernikoff in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Southwest High School. She resided in Kansas her entire life.

She was the circulation manager for The Kansas City Star and then for Time Life.  Following a short work hiatus, she did marketing and PR for Atlas Equipment Company.

She was an active member in her synagogue’s Sisterhood. She was an avid reader, played the piano, loved singing, dancing, a little gardening and enjoyed playing bridge. She participated in musical theater in her younger years. Her love for travel was greatest on a cruise ship.

Donna was the ultimate caregiver, always putting herself ahead of everyone else. She provided a tremendous outreach to so many people. She was a genuine guide and coach for many. Donna would light up a room with her smile and her very infectious laugh.

She is survived by her son, Steven Mokofsky of Swartz Creek, Michigan (and his wife, Lisa Mokofsky); her daughter, Stephanie Klauber of Marietta, Georgia (and her husband, John Klauber); and three grandchildren: Sarah Klauber of West Hollywood, California, Colton Mokofsky of Ludington, Michigan, and Cahley Mokofsky of Grand Haven, Michigan. She is also survived by her brother, Neil Chernikoff of Collierville, Tennessee, and sister-in-law, Gloria Chernikoff.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer organization.
