Torah Learning Center (TLC) will offer kosher food opportunities during the week of the Maccabi Games for both visitors to Kansas City and community members.

Three of TLC’s kosher food programs will provide meals throughout the week: The Wandering Table, Chai Pies and Graze by Brachie and Chaya. All food is made under the supervision of the Vaad HaKashruth of Kansas City.

“With the Maccabi Games just around the corner, we are so excited to welcome athletes, families, coaches and visitors to Kansas City,” said Chaya Niedzwiecki, community member and cofounder of Graze by Brachie and Chaya. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, and we're honored to play a small part in making everyone feel at home.”

The Wandering Table, a pop-up meat restaurant, will serve food on Sunday, Aug. 2 (noon to 9 p.m.); Monday, Aug. 3 (4:30 to 8:30 p.m.); and Thursday, Aug. 6 (4:30 to 8:30 p.m.). The menu will include smashburgers, fried chicken sandwiches, grilled chicken or grilled salmon salads, chicken tenders, cinnamon buns and drinks.

Chai Pies, which makes kosher New York-style pizzas, will serve food on Tuesday, Aug. 4, and Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Pizza can be ordered by the slice or as 18” pies. Cheese, vegetable, barbecue, plant-based pepperoni, white and gluten free (12”) options are available, with all toppings being vegetarian. Mac and cheese, caesar salad, cinnamon buns and drinks will also be available. On Wednesday, Aug. 5, orders from host families will be prioritized.

On Friday, Aug. 7, Graze by Brachie and Chaya will offer Shabbat take-out options for groups of four or 12. Options include challah loaves and rolls, salads and dips, breaded gefilte fish, spiced salmon, sticky pargiyot (skewered chicken), barbecue beef, roasted chicken thighs, schnitzel, potato kugel, sesame noodles, “franks and blanks,” deli rolls and green beans. Cookie, vegetable and fruit platters are available upon request. Orders must be submitted by Wednesday, Aug. 5.

“Whether your members are hosting out-of-town guests, looking for Shabbos meals, or simply wanting to know where kosher food will be available during the week, we hope these resources are helpful,” Niedzwiecki said.
