Visitors to Village Shalom now have a unique opportunity to experience centuries of Jewish history through a special Haggadah exhibit owned by Rabbi Mark Levin, a founding spiritual leader of Congregation Beth Torah.

The collection is currently on display on the first floor in the cases outside the Gerson Social Hall. It features more than 19 Haggadahs collected by Rabbi Levin over the years. The books reflect a wide range of traditions, styles and time periods, offering a glimpse into how the Passover story has been shared across generations and around the world through art.

The majority of the Haggadahs in the collection are exact facsimile reproductions of much older texts, including examples that date back to the early 14th century, offering a window into early versions of the Passover narrative.

David Spizman, who helped bring the exhibit to Village Shalom, said, “We’re delighted that Rabbi Levin is sharing a portion of his extensive Haggadah collection for residents and the broader community to review and enjoy. His longstanding involvement with Village Shalom makes it especially meaningful that he can bring his passion and expertise to the community in this engaging and educational way.”

The exhibit is open to residents, families and visitors during regular hours.
