Jewish teenagers Jonah Stolte and Brody Feldman placed 2nd and 5th, respectively, in the Kansas State High School Activities Association’s (KSHAA) 2025 boys tennis tournament.
The tournament, held in Junction City, Kansas, took place on May 16 and 17.
Stolte, a junior at Blue Valley West, is the son of John and Jennifer Stolte, and Feldman, a sophomore at Shawnee Mission East, is the son of Adam and Mia Feldman. Both teens have been on the United States Tennis Association (USTA) circuit for years and overlap often at tournaments across the country.
Both Stolte and Feldman are accomplished players with wins under their belts — examples being Stolte’s 2nd place finish in the 2023 Boys State Tennis Tournament and Feldman’s gold medal in boys tennis at the 2024 JCC Maccabi Games in Houston, Texas. Feldman also shares his tennis expertise through volunteering for ACEing Autism, a national program teaching people with autism how to play tennis.
Stolte’s second-place finish was not unexpected, according to KSHAA Covered, KSHAA’s news outlet. It reported that “none of Stolte’s teammates seemed all that surprised by how he was able to grind out [a] semifinal victory.”
Mia Feldman shared that the teens’ families are close and have known each other for decades, with Stolte’s grandfather Jeff Marks and Brody Feldman’s grandfather Dr. Mark Davidner (z”l) having gone on trips to Las Vegas every year.
