Drs. Stephanie Heimler and Benjamin Bernard were married on Aug. 31, 2025, at Paradise Point in Mission Bay, San Diego, California.
Rabbi Ron Schulman and Cantor David Lipsitz of Congregation Beth El in La Jolla, California, officiated the ceremony, which overlooked the water and was attended by friends and family.
The bride is the daughter of Susie and Jeff Heimer of San Diego and the granddaughter of Nancy and George Heimler of Beverly Hills, California. Included in the wedding party were her brother, Danny Heimler, and his fiance, Jena Sniefer, of La Jolla. The bride’s cousin Samantha Heimler of Beverly Hills served as a flower attendant.
The groom is the son of Lisa and Jerry Bernard of Overland Park, Kansas, and the grandson of Marjorie Adler and the late Milton Adler; the late Myron Bernard and Audrey Rothbarth of St. Louis, Missouri; and the late Beverly Edelstein of St. Louis. His brother, Daniel Bernard of Paradise Valley, Arizona, served as best man. Included in the wedding party were his sister Shira Bernard and her then-fiance, Derek Jobst, of San Francisco; and sister and brother-in-law Rachel and Gavi Horwitz of Overland Park. Ben’s nephew, Eli Horwitz, served as ring bearer, and his nieces, Mia and Noa Horwitz, served as flower attendants.
The couple lives in San Diego, and their honeymoon was in Tahiti and Bora Bora. Stephanie recently completed her Ph.D. in Biomedical Science at UC San Diego and will work in the pharmaceutical space. Ben is completing his fifth year as an ENT resident at UC San Diego. The couple met several years ago at a Passover Seder hosted by Rabbi Eric and Chaya Ertel of La Jolla.
