Pehr, Harold Theodore

Harold Theodore Pehr, 87, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014.

Graveside services were to be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah.

Harold was a prolific inventor with more than 60 registered patents, an entrepreneur known for his quick wit and vibrant personality. One of the highlights of his day was sharing “the joke of the day.” Harold proudly served in the U.S. Army as a recruiter and wrote the camp newspaper. He was a founding member of Congregation Beth Torah and a longtime member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah.

Born March 27, 1926, in Baltimore, Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Fannie-Berman-Pehr; first wife, Phyllis Pehr; and daughter Shelley Pehr.

He is survived by Janice Bramen, his wife of 34 years; daughter, Victoria Kitchen (Russell); daughter, Dona Miller (Brett); and grandchildren, Shaylynn Miller, Maura Miller, John Kitchen and Chris Kitchen; a brother, Marvin Pehr (Barbara); and nephew, Howard Pehr.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Sweet Life Memory Care of Overland Park as well as Brookfield Hospice for their excellent care in Harold’s last days.
