LYDIA LEBOW

Lydia Lebow, 96, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully Oct. 24, 2015, at Village Shalom. Memorial Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at Village Shalom in the Appleman Synagogue, 5500 W. 123rd St., Overland Park, Kansas, 66209. A private burial service in New York to follow at a later date.

Born Sept. 25, 1919, in London, England, to Max and Jane Bernstein, Lydia married Meyer Lebow in 1949. They were married for 45 years. The family moved to New York in 1966 with their two young children. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter (Cynthia), and five siblings.

After moving to Kansas City in 1994, Lydia became very active in the senior program at the Heritage Center of the Jewish Community Center. During the last 10 years, she resided at Village Shalom.  

Lydia is survived by her son Stuart (Marie) Lebow, three grandchildren; Joseph, Jacqueline and Jonathan Lebow, and two great-grandchildren; Annie and Ean Lebow. 

Much appreciation is given to the entire staff of Village Shalom in Overland Park.

Michael Garry Copeland, 61, of Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away peacefully in his home on Oct. 14, 2015. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri. His late parents were Marvin Jerome (Jerry) Copeland (father), Hope Rene’ Nelkin Braeman, (mother), and his grandmother was Helen Nelkin.
