Bertie Robbins, 83, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, in Portland, Ore.

Graveside services were set to take place at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Jewish Family Services of Greater Kansas City, 5801 W. 115th Street, Overland Park, KS 66211.

Bertie was born in 1930 in Kansas City, Mo., to Philip and Jennie Cinnamon. She graduated from Paseo High School in 1947 and then attended the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Bertie lived in the Kansas City area for most of her life. For more than 20 years she built a very successful career in the insurance industry, with an extreme passion for helping people.

She had a lively and spirited personality and was simply the life of the party. Her grandkids were a special part of her life that always brought laughter and a smile to her face. Bertie was a former member of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah.

She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 17 years, Lester Robbins, in 1996.

Bertie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Carlotta Kletsky; daughter and son-in law, Debbie and Rick Zurow; five grandchildren, Jay, Jon and Robert Kletsky, and Evan and Emily Zurow; sister, Sandra Levin; nephew, Michael Levin; and her former husband of 25 years, Harold Kletsky.

Bertie was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and longtime friends from Kansas City and newly found friends in Portland.
