William Dean Wilner, 62, of Shawnee, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at The Louis Memorial Chapel, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah or a charity of one’s choice.

Bill was the son of Joseph R. and Mildred Wilner and was a lifelong Kansas City-area resident. He was a graduate of Shawnee Mission East and went on to KU, where he was a member of the KU marching band. Bill was a percussionist his entire life and he loved music.

Bill’s career was office supply sales, most recently at Rangel Distributing. His whole world was his family. He loved to cook and his Thanksgiving turkeys were the stuff of legend.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Natalie; sons, Louis Wilner and spouse April, and Brett Roberts; daughters, Sarah Wilner Garvin and spouse Klint, and Marie Roberts and spouse Lee Ann Barker; sister, Joy Wilner Agron and spouse Jeff Agron; grandchildren, Elijah, Elschen and Josiah Garvin and Clarissa Roberts, as well as loving nieces, nephews and extended family. We are thankful and grateful for the time we had Bill in our lives.
