Helen Krashin (Flapan), beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died at age 91 on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, in Needham, Mass.

Graveside services were held Sunday, Jan. 12, at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery. The family would be honored to have memorial donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or Kehilath Israel Synagogue.

Helen is survived by her husband of 73 years, Albert Krashin.

She was born and lived in Kansas City, Mo., and Overland Park until moving to Framingham, Mass., to be close to her family.

Helen graduated from Central High School, class of 1940. She worked for Helzberg Jewelers early on then went on to work at Macy’s department store. She retired from Macy’s after 20 years. Not one to sit back, she worked part time at Sam’s Club for several years.

Helen and Albert were lifelong members of Kehilath Israel Synagogue in Overland Park before moving to Massachusetts. Helen enjoyed time spent with the Eastern Stars, American Medical Association and other various women’s clubs. She was an avid Mah Jongg player, still playing until last year.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Karen Krashin of Framingham; grandchildren, Marla and John McNulty and Stephen and Dana Krashin; and great-grandchildren, Lillian Elizabeth, John Russell and Jay Thomas McNulty.

Helen was devoted to her entire family and they in turn cherished her greatly; she will be missed.
