Jerry Koenig of St. Louis, Missouri, died Sunday, June 11, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Linda Koenig; dear father and father-in-law of Laurie (Jeff) Horn and Lynn (Ted) Dyer; dear grandfather of Michelle and Erin Horn and Sam Dyer; dear brother and brother-in-law of Michael (Nomi) Koenig; dear step-father of Susan (Tony) Chavez and Steve (Angela Russian) Meckfessel; dear brother-in-law of Dr. Clark (Joy) Kessel; our dear step-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend.

 

As a survivor, Jerry spoke about his miraculous survival of the Holocaust to thousands of people. He and his immediate family were hidden in a Polish family’s barn in an underground bunker for 22 months. Jerry loved the outdoors and was happiest ice skating, riding his bicycle and taking long walks.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 23, at 2 p.m. at the Jewish Federation of St. Louis Kopolow Building, #12 Millstone Campus Drive.
