Michael Lesser, 84, a lifelong area resident, passed away June 11, 2017. Funeral services were scheduled to take place Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Louis Memorial Chapel, with interment at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made the Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Michael was born August 29, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Sam and Ann Lesser. He attended local schools and graduated from Paseo High School. He then attended and graduated from the Kansas City University with a degree in pharmacy. Michael served his country after college with a tour of duty in the U.S. Army serving in Okinawa, Japan. After military service, he started his career as a retail pharmacist, which lasted for over 20 years. Michael and Anne were also partners in the Bagel and You at 95th and Nall. 

Michael enjoyed painting, making furniture, writing and blogging on the Hermit Haven site to his local and international audience. Michael will be greatly missed for his caring, compassion and his unusual dry humor.

Survivors include his daughter, Marlo Solyan of Chicago, Illinois, and his best friend, Anne Lesser of Overland Park, Kansas.
