Betty Deutch, 91, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Rose Estates. Funeral services were May 16 at Louis Memorial Chapel; burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Kansas City, Missouri, and spent her life in the greater Kansas City area. Her family adored her kindness, her empathy, and her unconditional love. Betty connected with people of all ages, who appreciated her warmth and genuine interest in them.

Betty was an active volunteer. She served as president of the Congregation Ohev Sholom sisterhood, state president of B’nai B’rith women, and president of the Ohev Sholom B’nai B’rith women’s chapter. Betty was a Hadassah Life Member and a member of Congregation Ohev Sholom and Congregation Beth Torah. She was always very involved in social justice issues.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Julie and John Hollerbach of Overland Park, Kansas; sons and daughters-in-law Randy and Rosanne Deutch of Overland Park, and Larry and Judy Deutch of Des Moines, Iowa. Granddaughters are Allison (Chad) Silver, Lisa (Ari) Perilstein, Marisa (David) Tawil, Meagan Deutch, Brittany and Carey Hollerbach. Great-granddaughters are Isabella and Madeline Tawil, Kaitlyn Silver, and Brooke Perilstein.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Moe and her brother Marvin Levin.

Betty’s families would like to thank Karin, Petty, Beth, Kristen, Brooke and Tensay at Rose Estates, and Sarah and Tracy of KC Hospice.

The family suggests contributions be sent to the Amy Dennis Pierron Music fund at Congregation Beth Torah in Overland Park, Temple B’nai Jeshurun in Des Moines, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
