Living a full life, Elinor Kessler Friedman was born May 23, 1934, and passed away March 8, 2017. Funeral services were held March 10, 2017, at The Louis Memorial Chapel; burial followed at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kehilath Israel Synagogue or Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Elinor was a dedicated volunteer throughout her life. She was selfless in her efforts working with community charities and people in need. In particular, she enjoyed volunteering at Village Shalom, Children’s Mercy Hospital, and was well known for years as Grandma Elinor at Leawood Elementary School.
Preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Rachel Kessler, Elinor is survived by her husband of 60 years, Sherrill Friedman of Overland Park; sons: Frank Friedman (Sondra) of Leawood; David Friedman (Diane) of St. Louis; and daughter: Marsha Friedman of Overland Park; five grandchildren: Adam, Micah, Jeremy, Lily, and Rachel. In addition she is also survived by her brother Mason Kessler (Marianne).
Elinor will be missed by all who knew her.
