Lloyd Lipoff, 96, passed away Feb. 20, 2017, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, from congestive heart failure.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Esther.
Lloyd grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and attended Erasmus Hall High School and New York University. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Force in 1942 and served as an airplane mechanic in the Pacific theater during World War II. After the war, he had many jobs, but his favorite was as a limo driver, where he chauffeured stars such as Cary Grant and Gina Lollobrigida.
Lloyd’s first marriage produced two sons and ended in divorce. He married Beatrice Weiner Munsky in 1972. They enjoyed 45 happy years together.
He was an avid bowler and golfer for much of his life, kept up a weekly poker game and loved to watch nearly any sport. He was also a voracious reader of everything from suspense novels to National Geographic.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Bea, and sons Jay (Larisa) and Scott (Eve). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jules (Renee), Beth, Russell, Jack, Joey and Emery and great-granddaughter Zadie. He also leaves behind step-daughter-in-law Gwen Munsky (Peter), step-grandchildren Stacey, Stefanie, David, Eric and Elizabeth, step-great-granddaughters Jordan and Emily, and step-son Ron Munsky as well as ex-daughter-in-law, Alice Capson.
Funeral services took place Feb. 22, 2017, at Star of David Memorial Gardens in North Lauderdale, Florida.
