Gloria Jean Gershon of Kansas City, Mo., passed away at home on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at the age of 86 with her daughters by her side.
Gloria was born in Evansville, Ind., to the late Ida and Bernard Trockman. Gloria was the loving wife to Herbert J. Gershon, of blessed memory; selfless mother to Brian, Jill and Lauren; adoring Momo to Aaron Tapp, of blessed memory, Kristy Tapp, and Meredith and Alex Gershon; sister to Howard and Stanley Trockman, both of blessed memory. Gloria was a devoted mother and wife and good friend.
She was a lover of animals and instilled that in her children. Gloria volunteered with various organizations over the years, and was a fearless "leader" of the family.
The family wishes to thank Gloria’s caregivers: Carolyn Porter, Rose, Tyler, Janet Sawyer, Beth Oberman and Judy Campbell. Their dedication to Gloria’s comfort and care made it possible for us to fulfill her wishes to keep her in the home. Also, we wish to thank our wonderful next-door neighbors, Billy and Venus, and our cousins for their support during these past few years.
A private graveside service was held Nov. 7, 2014. Donations can be made in Gloria’s memory to Kanas City Hospice and Wayside Waifs or the charity of one’s choice.
