The Nachum family is sad to announce the death of Carmella Nachum (85) in Jerusalem, Israel, on Sept. 11, 2014.
{mprestriction ids="1"}Carmella was born in Tunis, Tunisia, on Feb. 2, 1929, to Shmuel and Sara Shelley and immigrated to Israel in 1948. She married Benjamin Nachum and lived for over 60 years in Jerusalem’s Malha neighborhood, raising five children.
Carmella was very kind and had a welcoming home. She is survived by her children Rivka (Lazar) Edry, Yossi (Tami) Nachum, Sam (Dana) Nachum of Kansas City, Uri (Rona) Nachum and Yair Nachum; grandchildren Yamit and Ofir Edry, Natalie (Tomer) Katz, Shiran, Mazal and Dolev Nachum, Ben, Rachel and Élan Nachum, all of Kansas City, Carmit (Ofir) Levy, Yareen, Lev and Nofar Nachum and Oz (Rena) Nachum; brother Yakov Shelley and sister Gabi Luzzato; two great-grandsons and countless loving brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Carmella was loved by all and will be missed dearly by everyone that knew her.
