The pandemic has added yet another layer of stress facing our teens. Now Jewish Family Services’ YouBeYou program is offering additional resources online to help teens struggling with mental health issues.

YouBeYou.us has been redesigned with information and resources about teen mental health and wellness for teens, parents, educators and others who interact with youth. The site encourages youth to embrace a focus on progress rather than perfection in their daily life by integrating their mind, body and soul through hope, help and strength.

The YouBeYou website includes access to JFS counseling and other community agencies, and suicide prevention. In addition to direct feeds to social media sites, topics on the website include information about:

  • Hope and Strength
  • Anxiety and Stress
  • Depression
  • Suicide Prevention
  • Sexuality and Gender Identity
  • Consent and Sexual Assault
  • Substance Use
  • Eating Disorders

“The newly designed YouBeYou.us website is a wonderful addition to the programming and services we provide to schools across the Kansas City area,” said Sondra Wallace, Mental Health Coalition and YouBeYou youth coordinator. “Sharing the message of hope, help and strength has such a positive effect on the health and wellness of our youth. This website is a great place to find these messages, resources and connections for anyone in the community.”

YouBeYou is a JFS program offered in middle and high schools across the Kansas City region connecting teens and educators to positive mental health and wellness tools, as well as resources to find help for individuals, friends and family. YouBeYou was originally created in 2017 as a teen mental health campaign developed by Bernstein-Rein Advertising in collaboration with the Greater Kansas City Mental Health Coalition, which is based at and staffed by JFS.

The YouBeYou program is funded in part by the Children’s Services Fund of Jackson County. For more information, contact .
