Rabbi Dr. Bernhard and Charlene Rosenberg of Edison, New Jersey, announce the engagement of their son, Ari Rosenberg, to Ayelet Mael, the daughter of Joel and Lynn Mael of Lawrence, New York.

Ari works in sales and Ayelet is an attorney. Both are residents of New York City.

The wedding will be held in the fall of 2019 in New York City.

 

Diana and Sam Stasi of Overland Park announce the engagement of their daughter, Shaina Stasi, to Daniel Tabakh, son of Diana and Eugene Tabakh of Leawood.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Ruth and Lester Shalinsky. She attended the University of Kansas, where she earned a Master of Arts degree in speech language pathology. She is currently employed at Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, Kansas.

The future groom is the grandson of Esfir Azbel and late Solomon Azbel and the late Isaac and Bella Tabakh. He attended the University of Kansas, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He is currently employed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment in Topeka.

A Sept. 1 wedding at Kehilath Israel Synagogue is planned.

 

Lisa, Larry and David Mallin invite the community to celebrate their father, Mel Mallin, on his upcoming 95th birthday.

They are planning an Oneg Shabbat on Saturday, July 6, following regular Shabbat services at Kehilath Israel Synagogue. All are welcome.

 

Charity Laine Deutch and Samuel Loren Deutch, Ph.D., announce the birth June 21, 2019, of their son, Simon Allen Deutch.

Paternal grandparents are Drs. Neal and Michelle Deutch. Maternal grandparents are Pamela and Dale Barnum. Paternal great-grandmother is Charlene Hecht.

Simon was 6 pounds, 12 ounces and 20¾ inches. Mom and baby are in good health and are at home. The Deutch’s are members of Congregation Ohev Sholom.

The bris was held Friday, June 29, at Neal and Michelle Deutch’s home.

 

Adina and Norman Glass announce the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Asher Micha Yaer Glass, at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at Congregation Beth Israel Abraham and Voliner.

Asher is the grandson of Judith and David Solomont, Ann Stern and Leonard Glass, and the late Carol Glass, of blessed memory. His siblings are Sara Glass, Nadia and Adam Glass and Netanel Kass.

Relatives and friends are invited to worship with the family and to attend the Kiddush luncheon following services.

In his free time Asher enjoys playing video games, bike riding, collecting sports memorabilia and getting them signed by the players.

 

 

Evan Sandhaus and Tara Bobiak of Brooklyn, New York, announce the birth May 11, 2019, of a son, Leo Ezra Sandhaus.

Grandparents are Becky and Ron Sandhaus, and Carol and Joe Bobiak of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

 

 

Adeline Robinson became a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, May 25, at Beth Hillel Bnai Emunah in Wilmette, Illinois. She is the daughter of Brian and Christa Robinson and the granddaughter of Mark and Sandy Robinson of Buffalo Grove, Illinois.

Adeline enjoys travel, soccer and fencing, as well as basketball and volleyball for her school. For her mitzvah project, Adeline volunteered with the Ark Chicago helping to feed those in need.

 

 

Julia Rose Siegel and David Matthew Nielsen were married on Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at Kinloss Hall in London, England. 

The bride is the daughter of Lori and Charles Siegel of Kansas City, Missouri, the granddaughter of the late Stanley and Ruthine Simon of Kansas City, along with the late Ada and David Siegel of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The groom is the son of Carl Nielsen and the late Lesley Nielsen (of blessed memory) of London, England, the grandson of the late Peter and Sonia Packer of Bournemouth and Nancy Nielsen and the late Dennis Nielsen of London. 

The couple had pre-wedding engagement celebrations in New York and Kansas City last summer, and currently live in Northwest London

 

 

Jeff and Edi Penner announce the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Skyler Hayden Penner, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at Congregation Beth Torah.

Skyler is the grandson of Sharon and Dr. Stanley Penner and Michael and Patrizia Callahan.

Skyler’s hobbies include train modeling, train watching, baseball, gaming and swimming. For his mitzvah project, he will make a donation to Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy, as he treasures the Jewish values and education they provide.

 

 

 

Ellen and Paul Schifman announce the graduation of their son, Eli, from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Barrett, the Honors College.

As the Outstanding Graduating Senior for the W. P. Carey School of Business, Eli gave the graduation speech at the business school’s commencement. Along with graduating summa cum laude and maintaining higher than a 4.0 grade average every semester for four years, Eli was a McCord Scholar, JP Morgan Chase Scholar, Furst Honors Scholar, Moeur Award Recipient, President’s Scholar, CFA Institute Student Scholar and Beta Gamma Sigma member.

Eli will be working as an investment banking analyst at Credit Suisse in Los Angeles.

He is the grandson of Madeline and Robert Schifman of Overland Park and Rica and the late Harvey Spivack of Tucson, Arizona.
